The Pygmy Pouch™ is a compact, vertical-mount gear pouch designed for fast, front-access storage as part of the STEP 22 AMP Trail System (Adaptive Modular Platform). Its unique roll-front opening functions like a roll-top bag rotated 90°, allowing you to open it from the front without digging or unloading. A built-in gear retention pocket keeps contents secure and organized, even when you’re on the move.
Engineered around a fiber-reinforced rigid back panel with a precision laser-cut MOLLE pattern, the Pygmy integrates seamlessly with other AMP components. It can be mounted on rigid MOLLE panels, used with STEP 22 Spare Tire Mounting Blocks, or installed using custom hard-mount solutions. The panel design encourages flexibility in how and where you run it.
Ideal for storing recovery gear, trash bags, gloves, tie-downs, 1 lb. propane bottles, or small trail accessories, the Pygmy adds modular, fast-access storage to trail, field, and vehicle-based setups. Like all STEP 22 Gear, it’s built with premium, weather-resistant materials designed to withstand harsh environments.

Named after the elusive and endangered pygmy hippopotamus, the Pygmy Pouch honors one of the most secretive mammals of the African rainforest. Unlike its larger cousin, the pygmy hippo depends on dense forest and wetland habitats that are increasingly threatened by deforestation and human activity.
